Leadership Communication

Course Content
Building effective communication skills among leaders become even more critical when facing sustainability challenges. Students will be trained in effective interaction between leaders and employees. Communication skills comprise analyses of audiences and interaction strategies by speech and script in interpersonal, organizational, and external relations. The course aims to develop students’ emotional intelligence, of importance particularly for communicating values and aspirations. Students will also be trained in handling negotiations and the media. Intercultural communication is also emphasized, especially for negotiating environmentally friendly solutions or contracts.
Learning Objectives
Upon the completion of this course, the student should be able to:
Demonstrate the management of fundamental business communication skills, by speech, in writing and reporting, and in negotiating
Prove a strong competency in oral and interpersonal communication, including one-on-one, small-group communication, public presentations, and the use of social media
Understand and implement efficient inter-cultural communication
Make efficient use of professional technologies for business communication
Understand basic environmental, ethical, and legal concerns in business communication and negotiations, locally and globally
Use communication to create environments that empower employees
